Integrations
Integrations, stated plainly.
ReceptionOS has a public REST API, signed webhooks, and single sign-on and directory sync for Microsoft Entra. Chat apps and access control are not connected yet.

{ "event": "visit.signed_in", "data": { … } } A public API, with scoped keys.
Four endpoints: list visits, sign a visitor in, list hosts and pre-register a visitor. Requests are limited to 120 a minute.
- A public REST API (OpenAPI 3.1) uses scoped API keys that are stored hashed.
Webhooks you can verify.
Three events: a visitor signing in, a visitor signing out and a pre-registration being created. Each event is delivered once.
- Webhooks are signed with HMAC-SHA256 and come with a delivery log.
Your identity provider stays in charge.
Single sign-on and directory sync are Enterprise identity: £2,400 per organisation per year, ex VAT, covering every site.
- Single sign-on works with any SAML 2.0 identity provider, is set up by the account owner in the portal, and comes with a step-by-step Microsoft Entra ID guide.
- Owners can require single sign-on, so the identity provider's multi-factor authentication and conditional access govern portal access.
- SCIM directory sync adds new staff as hosts, removes access for leavers and ends their sessions, every four hours or on demand, with a Microsoft Entra guide.
Hosts hear about it, and visitors get an invitation.
Email and text for hosts, and a calendar file for visitors who are expected.
- When the host is in your directory, hosts are told by email when their visitor arrives, with the visitor's photo when one was taken, and by text if they have opted in.
- Visitors get an email with their invite code and a calendar invitation file that their calendar app can open.
It works on the tablets you already have.
- The kiosk runs on the iPad or Android tablet you already have, installed from the browser with no app store.

FAQ
Questions buyers ask us.
Does ReceptionOS have an API?
Yes. A public REST API (OpenAPI 3.1) with scoped, hashed API keys. It has four endpoints: list visits, sign a visitor in, list hosts and pre-register a visitor. Requests are limited to 120 a minute, and the OpenAPI document is at api.receptionos.co.uk/openapi.json.
Do webhooks retry?
No. Each event is delivered once, and the delivery log shows the result, so check it if your receiver was down. Verify the signature and the timestamp before you trust a body.
Does it work with Microsoft Entra?
Yes. Single sign-on works with any SAML 2.0 identity provider and is set up by the account owner in the portal, and directory sync uses SCIM. Microsoft Entra ID has a step-by-step guide for both.
What does single sign-on cost?
Single sign-on and SCIM directory sync are Enterprise identity: £2,400 per organisation per year, ex VAT, covering every site.
Can hosts be told in a chat app?
Not yet. Hosts in your directory are told by email, and by text if they have opted in. Chat app notifications are not available yet.
Does it connect to door entry or access control?
No. The visitor sign-in and the employee PIN put people on the board and the fire roll-call; they don’t open doors. Access control integrations are not available yet.
Does it sync with my calendar?
No. Visitors who are expected get an invitation as a calendar file that their calendar app can open, but ReceptionOS doesn’t sync with a calendar.
