Kiosk app
The sign-in app for the tablet you already own.
ReceptionOS runs on the iPad or Android tablet you already have, installed from the browser with no app store. Visitors, contractors, staff and couriers use it at your front desk.
Drawn for an iPad held upright: the welcome panel sits above the options. Drawn for an iPad held wide: the welcome panel sits beside the options. Drawn for a 16:10 Android tablet held upright: the welcome panel sits above the options.
Your tablet, paired with a code.
ReceptionOS is software only. We don’t sell hardware.
- A tablet pairs to a reception with a six-digit code, so there are no shared passwords.
- The kiosk updates itself in the background, and applies an update only while it is idle on the welcome screen.
- Owners and site managers get an email if a tablet goes quiet for 30 minutes.
Four journeys, set up your way.
Each journey asks only what you choose, and each site looks like your building.
- Visitors, contractors, employees and deliveries each have their own sign-in journey at every site, and each can be switched on or off.
- You decide what each journey asks for: the host, a photo, documents, contractor approval, induction and permit acknowledgements, and your own questions.
- Each site can show its own logo, colour, name, welcome text and privacy notice, plus scheduled on-screen notices.
Signing people in when the wifi drops.
A half-finished sign-in never waits on the screen for the next visitor.
- The kiosk keeps signing visitors in when the wifi drops: sign-ins and sign-outs queue on the tablet and sync, with their real times, when the connection returns. While offline the kiosk runs a basic sign-in without your documents, questions, photo or host search. Contractor inductions, permits and employee PINs need a connection, and a contractor signed in offline on a journey that asks for an induction or a permit isn’t recorded. The watchlist is checked when it reconnects. A sign-in still waiting on the tablet isn’t on a fire roll-call started before it syncs.
- A half-finished sign-in clears itself after 45 seconds of inactivity.
Made for everyone at the desk.
Large targets, large text and the languages your visitors speak.
- The kiosk is available in seven languages, with Cymraeg listed first, then English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, and visitors can switch on every screen.
- The kiosk is built for touch, with 64 px minimum tap targets and 20 px minimum text, it follows the tablet's high-contrast and reduced-motion settings, and it never uses colour as the only signal.
What the kiosk doesn’t do yet
We’d rather you heard it from us before the demo.
- The kiosk doesn't yet follow the tablet in every orientation. Planned
- Printed visitor badges are not available yet. Planned

FAQ
Questions buyers ask us.
What is a visitor sign-in app?
A visitor sign-in app is the screen your visitors use to sign themselves in at reception. ReceptionOS runs in the browser on the iPad or Android tablet you already have, so there is no app store to go through and no hardware to buy from us.
Which tablets does it run on?
Any iPad or Android tablet you already have. You install it from the browser and pair it with a six-digit code. We haven’t published a minimum iPad model, so tell us which tablets you have when you book a demo.
How do we pair a tablet?
Start pairing in the admin portal and enter the six-digit code on the tablet. Each code works once and expires after ten minutes, so there are no shared passwords.
What happens when the wifi drops?
The kiosk keeps signing visitors in when the wifi drops: sign-ins and sign-outs queue on the tablet and sync, with their real times, when the connection returns.
Is the kiosk available in Welsh?
Cymraeg is available on the kiosk, first in a list of seven languages, and visitors can switch language on every screen. Your own welcome text and documents show as you wrote them.
Does the kiosk update itself?
Yes. It updates in the background and applies an update only while it is idle between visitors, so nobody is interrupted mid sign-in.
Do you sell the tablets or the stands?
No. ReceptionOS is software. You bring the tablet and the mount.
See it on your own front desk.
